Description

The death of a childhood friend while under Jefferson Parker's counsel fills him with doubts about his calling as a minister. Convinced he's incapable of helping anyone, he still finds himself pulled into the mystery of his mother's new neighbor.

Plagued by nightmares since her husband’s untimely death, Pamela Sue Crawford returns home to the small Texas town where she grew up in hopes of finding the peace she desperately craves.

Could an old woman's stories of life in World War II Texas be exactly what they both need to unravel the secrets of the past and set things right? Or will they discover the truth may be worse than the nightmares?

Loved the book as it had both a heartwarming romance and mystery. Nice view of small town Texas. Great twists as the characters develop. A must read.

I enjoyed this book with the great characters, suspense and romance! I thought it a bit strange that Jeff, a pastor, assured his mom he wouldn't do that and he wasn't involved sexually, but then when he does have sexual relations, not another word about it. I feel someone raised in a religious and loving family would have a moment of regret, or sorrow over not living up to his family's standards. If a Navy man with a reputation with women has a fling I understand it fits the character's feelings but I was surprised

Boy meets girl, things should be simple, right? Not for Jefferson Davis Parker (don't you just love that name?) and Pamela Sue Dawson. Add a loving mom that wants to see her son married, a small town where everyone knows everyone, an active grapevine, throw in a secret or two and you the making for a wonderful story filled with misunderstandings, mysteries and romance. How does the romance fit in? Read the book and see! You won't be disappointed.

This is the third Chris Keniston book that I have read. While I have enjoyed them all, this one was my favorite. This was a very sweet romance with wonderful characters. It had a great mixture of suspense and romance. The ending seemed to hint of more to come for Pamela Sue's siblings. I would love to read more about the residents of Hope's Corner.
