I picked this up because the second book in the series looked so good (murder and the discovery of a pirate ship wreck!!) , but I had to start at the beginning. Definitely a cozy mystery since it really focuses on painting the picture of each location and there is no gore-y violence . I would read this book late at night or early in the morning when I couldn’t sleep and wasn’t too stressful for late night reading escapes. The author writes in a way that I can really picture the settings. Love that there is some diversity and representation in the book. Really enjoyed the depiction of the climax. Won’t spoil, but I definitely wouldn’t survive that! Excited to now get down the real meal of the second book: love when there is a modern and a historical mystery intertwined and fact that it involves pirates…yes please.
