Weakest of the series. Author spends too much time focused on gay characters to the detriment of the story. Otherwise historically informative.

This is the end of the series and I am glad I read it all. It took a very long time, but worth it. I am pleased to recommend the series.
Happy Reading!

Fantastic! Once again, Follet weaves the stories of his characters into a beautiful, fascinating look at history.
Not the same

The entire book seemed rushed. Very little character development. And like the prequel book the last quarter of the book seemed to just a sprint to get it finished. Hard to believe the book was written by Ken. Seems like it was written by a committee with everyone throwing out ideas and trying to figure out how to work it into the story.
Another masterpiece

Follet always seems to captivate me with his characters. Some I hate, some I love & some that frustrate me by choosing the wrong person to marry. I loved this book, and he has become my favorite contemporary author by continually writing novels that make me want more. His historical fictions are full of facts that I had never learned previously, and compel me to research historical records to confirm that he has indeed done his homework. This one is 5 stars for my reading taste.
Fabulous!

I normally love Ken Follett novels but this one was very tedious and I struggled to finish it.
