Mia, her friends and her cat, king Tut, are hilarious. This book keeps you entertained and keeps you guessing. This is the first book I’ve read in this series but it definitely won’t be the last.

Gone Rogue by Stephanie Rowe 3rd book in the Mia xxxx mystery series. Can be read as a stand-alone. Cozy Murder mystery. It’s the time of year for the Bass Derby Strawberry Bake-Off and Rogue is missing. She’s won 4 times and this our be the year the trophy would be named after her. Hattie, Mia and Lucy try to find Rogue but find a dead body instead. Of course they do. It’s been a whole ten days since they found the last one, so it was time. The dead woman left town years ago with the rumor of a million dollars in diamonds. With her own bodyguard missing, Mia is on the suspect list. It’s going to be up to Seam Ripper crew to track the clues and find the answers. Crazy antics, unbelievably insane women, in a “what are they thinking?” kind of way, following the clues, and making all the pieces fit together. Zany mystery and group of amateur sleuths, getting it done. Even while real murder and danger threatens. Twists and turnabouts that defy logic. Just go along for the ride. It’s amusing and crafty. Excerpts that totally amused me: “Gather as many Seam Rippers as you can and meet us at the entrance to the contest tent to help us unload. We'll have about three minutes to set up. And help Lucy stall the judges." "Got it!" Bootsy hung up immediately without asking for more info, which made me wonder exactly how often the Seam Rippers got into trouble. Given what I knew about them, it was probably pretty frequent. Did I really want to hang out with them? Yes. Yes, I did. —————————————————————- Friends didn't let friends get revenge-killed for murders they didn't commit. Basic friendship rules right there. —————————————————————— “But if they're innocent and we don't warn them, and then they get murdered, the guilt will haunt us forever." "Speak for yourself," Hattie said. "Everyone is responsible for their own well-being. Our job is to find the murderer and keep other folks from being murdered." I raised my brows. "You literally just said that other people being murdered isn't our problem." Hattie sighed. "We have to let people fend for themselves so we can save them. Obviously.” Excerpt From Gone Rogue by Stephanie Rowe

This book is awesome! I feel like I say that about each book, but it is the truth. It just keeps getting better and better. It makes you want to stay and live in this world. So, where’s the application to apply to be a friend with Mia and the gang? Hehe but really Stephanie Rowe’s writing is fabulous! You feel like you are right there with the girls getting into shenanigans and trying to get out of them while staying sane and true to each other. Oh Mia, the things that happen around you. I love how lively she is and want to be her bestie. She really had me laughing throughout the entire book. I mean of course Hattie and Lucy did too. Where would we be without them right?? I highly recommend getting this book! It is so funny, there’s so much going on it has you hooked from beginning to end. I mean come on now, strawberries, murder and mystery. Who would want to be part of that? Mia and the gang are a great group of gals to have in your corner if you’re ever in a bind. If you need some happiness in your life read this series. It is so worth it!

OK, this book just sucked me in. The plot is fast and twisty and just pulls you along. I wasn’t expecting that, as I generally don’t read cozy mysteries, but I have to say I am now a Mia fan. And King Tut! I want one of my own! I received a free ARC copy of the book and am giving my honest review.

What an excellent addition to this series. Mia is fantastic. A true leading lady in these smile all the time mysteries. With Hattie & Lucy by her side they can do anything. Yes these are murder mysteries but they are a laugh a minute. I enjoyed this book so much. Your kept guessing who the killer is the whole time. No way was I going to figure out who done it without being told by the author. This series should be read in order. Just a joy and pleasure to read. I received an ARC for my honest review.

Mia Murphy and her best friends/amateur sleuths are so fun to read in this hilarious cozy mystery. The three sleuths who would do anything to help a friend in need are witty and endearing characters who are also real, relatable and lovable people who have flaws, but are really just trying to do their best as they bumble along until they solve the case. Just like Mia’s other stories, this one grabbed me from the first sentence and took me along for a hilarious and twisty ride. This was a stay up too late because I could not put it down kind of book. Mia is the daughter of a conwoman and pickpocket and she was an FBI informant for several years to help convict her drug kingpin husband. She now lives in small town Bass Derby, Maine, and owns a marina. Recently, she and her friends “helped” solve two murders and she is now hoping for some boring small town life. Unfortunately, that’s not what happens and she once again stumbles upon a dead body. Mia and her friends get themselves into absurdly funny and sometimes dangerous situations trying to solve the latest murder which may or may not be related to the local strawberry shortcake baking competition or perhaps an old jewelry store heist. This book has a little bit of everything just like you would expect from this genre - sweet moments, strong friendships, snort worthy situations, real life issues, imperfect characters, painful pasts, dangerous situations, small town quirky townspeople, shady characters, incompetent police, competent sexy police, twists and turns, mystery and secrets. The book was well written with witty dialogue, characters with depth and an engaging storyline. After reading this series, I can confidently say that I will always need more Mia Murphy in my life.
