Description

#1 NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER

“Reacher gets better and better. . . . [This is the] craftiest and most highly evolved of Lee Child’s electrifying Reacher books.”—Janet Maslin, The New York Times

“Child is a superb craftsman of suspense, juggling several plots and keeping his herrings well-rouged. . . . Chances are you’ll want to seek out other Reacher adventures the moment you finish.”—Entertainment Weekly

A bus crashes in a savage snowstorm and lands Jack Reacher in the middle of a deadly confrontation. In nearby Bolton, South Dakota, one brave woman is standing up for justice in a small town threatened by sinister forces. If she’s going to live long enough to testify, she’ll need help. Because a killer is coming to Bolton, a coldly proficient assassin who never misses.

Reacher’s original plan was to keep on moving. But the next 61 hours will change everything. The secrets are deadlier and his enemies are stronger than he could have guessed—but so is the woman he’ll risk his life to save.

BONUS: This edition contains an excerpt from Lee Child's A Wanted Man.

“Masterful . . . a tour-de-force of both structure and suspense.”—The Providence Journal

“Child keeps his foot hard on the throttle. . . . This is Child in top form, but isn’t he always?”—Booklist (starred review)

“Compulsively addictive [with] an explosive climax that will have you tearing out your hair until Reacher’s next appearance.”—The Miami Herald

These stories keep stunning me. Each one is better than the one previous which knocks me out because I’m thinking there’s no chance 61 Hours can be better than Gone Tomorrow but it is. I don’t know how he comes up with this stuff but please don’t stop.

Ending was disappointing. To burn the fortune to kill one guy? Lame.

I’m not sure why so many negative reviews. True Reacher fans know how the endings will be. It might directly say it, but without spoiling it, we know. Because we know the next book will come out and continue the never ending journey. Some didn’t understand the countdown. Don’t give a bad review because YOU don’t understand lol you have to pay attention. Details in the Reacher books are make this series great. We know there will be loose ends, that’s why we wait for the next book to see if Lee will tie them up!

Great story in many ways. I couldn't put it down. Two problems. First, I still don't know what the count-down of hours was measuring and secondly, we were left not knowing what happened to Reacher in the end!
  • Very disappointed

Such a disappointing ending after so much buildup. Also, too much of the middle part was description after description of all and sundry.

This book was long, slow and tedious. Yes, the bad guy(s) get it in the end, but it was not satisfying. And, you don't really know what happens to Reacher in the end. You assume he gets away, but how is not clear. Not enough action. A lot of build up, but when the bad guy gets it, it's just too quick. A couple of loose ends are never tied up. I kept waiting for the big pay off and I didn't really care when it finally came. I would choose another Reacher book.
