What compelled this men to continue to fly in to the face of shear terror? They do not make them like this anymore. Sad to see where we are today

Very long read, but a well-written history on the Eighth Air Force, the upbringing of the Air Force, and how the bomber boys helped in the success of the war. Easy to read but can be long at time. Very much enjoyed
I haven’t read the book yet, but imma rate the movie.

Gets long

Gets very long at times. Over 700 pages, and the last 300 were kind of just a repeat of the first 400. Long chapters that just went on and on. Author also starts getting into political parts of the war the last 200 pages. Goes on long rants
A shock to the system!

This is easily one of the more compelling books I've read in some time. This history book goes well beyond the actual campaign and describes in detail what these men faced on their missions. The challenges encountered are almost beyond belief and reading this amongst the comfort I enjoy today heightens the stark contrast to the sacrifices of so many during that terrible time. Highly recommended reading!!

This book kept me interested from the first page to the last. For all of us that do not want history to repeat itself this is a must read.
