Agathe von Trapp, the oldest daughter in the Trapp Family Singers, offers readers the real story behind an American classic in her poignant and fascinating autobiography Memories Before and After The Sound of Music. The courageous family and events immortalized in the beloved Broadway musical and hit Hollywood film come vibrantly alive in these pages, and Agathe’s post-Sound of Music life is equally compelling.

My family three generations, have loved both the play and movie of "The Sound of Music" for many years. We also have enjoyed the Lodge in Stowe. My wife and I will be taking a Viking River Cruise this December,2017, with a visit to Salzburg. We live in Florida and wouldn't you know it, this November the play of "The Sound of Music" will be performed at the Times-Union Center in Jacksonville. We will be there in the front row. :-) Thank you for the play, the movie, and Agatha's book. Respectfully and PEARSONally, Bob and Julie Pearson

This book is the simple telling of the true Von Trapp family. As expected it differs from The Sound of Music. Nonetheless, it is a fun and interesting read. Fans should enjoy it.
