Description

She was unmarried, untouched and almost thirty, but novelist Amanda Briars wasn′t about to greet her next birthday without making love to a man. When he appeared at her door, she believed he was her gift to herself, hired for one night of passion. Unforgettably handsome, irresistibly virile, he tempted her in ways she never thought possible...but something stopped him from completely fulfilling her dream.

Jack Delvin′s determination to possess Amanda became greater when she discovered his true identity. But gently-bred Amanda craved respectability more than she admitted, while Jack, the cast-off son of a nobleman and London′s most notorious businessman, refused to live by society′s rules. Yet when fate conspired for them to marry, their worlds collided with a passionate force neither had expected...but both soon craved.

What a unique, unexpectedly good book. The main characters played off each other so well, the storyline was so unique and there was much romance and humor. It was at times tense and sweet.

I’ve never chortled before in my life but the noise that left my mouth when it was reveled that the male protagonist was younger than his wife. That was so unexpected and frankly appreciated, given that most of the time in these books the women are like decades younger than the men (gotta REALLY get in that daddy kink) but anyway). I just thought that was really funny. Like…wow okay HAAHAHHAHAH.

This book was everything and more! The heroine Amanda is the closest thing in these books to the average reader who consume these books. I think we can all identify with her in some way....and Jack is just such a big, handsome, sexual being who loves her in-spite of his fear of trusting and loving anyone. Their love isn’t perfect and they endure hardships and separation along the way. One of my absolute favorites.

Wow, a truly amazing, well written, unexpected gem. What I really liked about this novel was that it wasn't your usual, predictable trope. Within a few pages I was hooked and didn't put it down until it was finished. An easy read that was definitely a page turner. Highly recommend!
