G-Man is a thorough examination of J Edgar Hoover’s life and influence written by Beverly Gage. The reader can appreciate the vast research the author undertook to try to explain this complex man. The reader may also be left with the impression the author sought resources which would support her prior assumptions. More consideration could have been given to the era in which JEH lived and its impact on all Americans.
