I want to start by saying that the author did an incredible job with the descriptions of both the scenery and the characters! This kind of literary work really immerses the reader in the story. The detailed descriptions evoke a sense of nostalgia and make you feel like you’re right there with Percy, Sam, Delilah, and Charlie, bringing these characters to life. This book is often called a “must read” by many, and while I found it enjoyable, I could have easily skipped it! It begins with some drama, which I typically enjoy! However, the suspense built around an event feels pretty predictable after just a few pages!

Easy summer read, I really enjoyed.

I read this book in one sitting. The anticipation of going back and forth between times was both entertaining and satisfying. And the hook at the end?! Just wow!

Such a beautiful coming of age story and the weirdness that is growing up. The challenges and changes of friendships as we get older. The drama of young, teen love. The hurt, the intensity. Had me in tears multiple times. Loved loved loved this book!

I wish I cousin re-read this for a first time again. Absolutely tug at my heartstrings.

Rather predictable and drawn out but still a fun read

Carly has solidified for me that childhood sweetheart second chance stories are my favorite trope. Such natural character development, loved living in both the future and the past like I was reading two books I couldn’t put down, and I didn’t. Such real characters and I loved the dialogue. Highly recommend!

Looked for more by this author immediately upon finishing and found out this was her first novel!! Wow!! What talent!! I couldn’t put it down!! Beautifully written story!! It will go up there with one of my all time faves! Looking forward to reading your next novel!

I hate giving things five stars, but I honestly think this books deserves it. If you’re thinking about reading it do it, it is sooo good I finished it all in one day I couldn’t put it down.
