GOOD MORNING AMERICA BOOK CLUB PICK

“Rosie Walsh’s The Love of My Life is my favorite kind of thriller—gripping, heartbreaking and impossible to put down.”—Laura Dave

From the New York Times bestselling author of Ghosted comes a love story wrapped in a mystery: an up-all-night page-turner with a dark secret at its core

I have held you at night for ten years and I didn't even know your name. We have a child together. A dog, a house.

Who are you?

Emma loves her husband Leo and their young daughter Ruby: she’d do anything for them. But almost everything she's told them about herself is a lie.
And she might just have got away with it, if it weren’t for her husband’s job. Leo is an obituary writer; Emma a well-known marine biologist. When she suffers a serious illness, Leo copes by doing what he knows best – researching and writing about his wife’s life. But as he starts to unravel the truth, he discovers the woman he loves doesn’t really exist. Even her name isn’t real.
When the very darkest moments of Emma’s past finally emerge, she must somehow prove to Leo that she really is the woman he always thought she was . . .
But first, she must tell him about the other love of her life.

I loved everything about this book! The suspense, the love, and the heartbreak. I’m a big fan of “Ghosted” and now this book as well. I can’t wait to read what’s next from Rosie Walsh!

I truly enjoyed this book very well written….just a tad long winded for me.
  • Solid story, doesn’t drag with believable characters and plot. I recommend!

I don’t see what others are raving about with this book. I was duped into thinking it would be a safe read seeing that GMA endorsed it for their book club but I could not get into this. It’s like the writer tried harder to deceive the reader rather than just trying to write a good story. It was all rather boring and uneven and I could not get into it. Plus after all Emma is put through we never find out what happens to Janice. It’s just not a believable story. People keep secrets but it’s a bit far fetched to believe she’d jump through all those hoops to keep a whole other life separate from her husband. I usually give the books I read to friends but this isn’t one I would give to anyone. I feel it missed the mark and would not recommend.

The power to accept, forgive and live. A much needed read. Life, family, situations change us all. Choose to live, and live without chains or bondage

It took awhile for me to become fully invested, but once I was, I could not put it down. I thought I had it figured out, but no, it became more interesting. It’s a really good story.
