Description

Light and dark combine as the cards reveal hidden truths in this intoxicating installment in Christine Feehan's #1 New York Times bestselling Carpathian series.

Sandu Berdardi continues to exist only to protect his people. An ancient Carpathian, his entire long life has been dedicated to honor above all else. He knows his time has passed, especially since he has not been able to find his lifemate—the anchor to keep him sane in a world he no longer understands. But just as he truly starts to give up hope, a voice reaches out to him in the night and his world explodes into color.

Adalasia enters Sandu’s mind seamlessly, as if she has been a part of him forever. While she can see the shape of things to come in her deck of cards, her gift is both a blessing and a curse. The true course of Sandu’s quest remains unclear, with danger waiting at every turn. She cannot see everything the future holds, but she does know it is a journey they will take together.

By joining him, she will start them down a dangerous, seductive path from which there is no coming back....

As usual, Ms. Feehan captures your attention and holds it. This was a good read as all have been in the Dark series. I appreciate the storyline and the setup of the characters, so i don’t understand those that gave this a negative rating. The only reason I am now reading this is because I wanted her to have another book done before I finished this one

First hesitant to read, but after few chapters I was hooked. The book is different than the prior books, their relationship developed easy, there was no prior bad romances. Love the way the tarot cards are included in the story and we got to revisit with some old friends. There was mystery, danger, laughter and don’t forget the romance. I would recommend this book

I’ve read all the books in the series and found this recap of ancients a nice change. I won’t spoil the plot but the story moves along smoothly and is a great read.

True to the spectrum of the very first Dark Series book, you are spellbound from the first paragraph. Familiar past character names come forth to weave in and out of the story you can’t seem to leave unread. Yet, exciting new twists, turns, and characters unfold leaving that little tidbit of introduction to whole new adventures to come. October 22 can’t come fast enough. LOL

I feel like the author has given up on this series. I used to love these books and couldn’t wait for them to come out. The last two have been a disappointment. This one more so than the last. It just felt like a filler, with very little effort put into it.

I have been trying to read this book for days.....it’s to the point where I just started skimming. I’ve read all the books in the series but this one just kinda seems to drone on and on. I’m glad I did not pay for it! I don’t understand how all the other reader gave such great reviews

She has a way of drawing you in as only a true artiest ca & making you care about the intriguing characters that she makes come alive. Can’t wait for the next book!! Her other series are also compelling!

A variation from other couples in the dact that there’s lots of adventure surrounding a simple question. The answer is joyous for all
  • Not a good book

Weak slow story, un developed romance. Multiple repeats of information. The author obviously struggled to fill the pages. It was a throw away book used to make a quota in my opinion. I couldn’t even make it through the book.
