This is a great book and I’d definitely recommend it to anyone. The twists came in at the right moments, and there was the usual charm and humor throughout every page that left me smiling. However, there is one thing I’d like to say. Anyone who has read the Magisterium series (also a recommendation) may agree with me that Roshani made the character of Kara a little like the character of Alex Strike. Obviously Alex was a villain and Kara…well we’re not exactly sure where she stands yet. But I’m talking about how Alex seemed to take the place of Call/Constantine when he became a Makar. He even started making his own chaos-ridden people. This is similar to Kara believing she was the daughter of the Sleeper. Suddenly, she seemed to replace Aru in terms of crushing on Aidan and adding her to the plan in the gift shop seemingly at the last minute. It appeared that everyone forgot that Aru was the Sleepers daughter, even Aru herself. If you haven’t read the Magisterium series, then you may have no idea what I’m talking about. This book is a great read and I can’t wait to see how Roshani concludes the series.
