It is an excellent book, very accessible to the general public who are interested in having access to academic knowledge to this period Responsibly the conclusions that are drawn from the why, the when and the causes are drawn from the evidence that is in his hands at this moment. I can’t wait to buy the sequel of this book after 1177 BC

This is a clear, thoughtful, and engaging overview of the history of the eastern Mediterranean in the late Bronze Age.

Interesting overview of the late Bronze Age but in the end somewhat lacking. Discusses early globalization as a potential cause of the collapse but doesn’t provide evidence. Was there a decline of copper and tin to Egypt post collapse that led to the decline and eventual overthrow of the pharaohs? We aren’t provided that information if it exists.
