I read the book while I through hiked the AT in 2021. I had already hiked 1000 miles before reading it and like Geraldine Largay (Inchworm), I had gotten turned around and disoriented a few times. My spatial orientation was not very good. After reading the book my senses improved dramatically. I thought of Inchworm often when I hiked in Maine. She was an inspiration. I’m considering taking a course in a survival school before my next hike which will be the CDT.

What a wonderful tribute to a fellow hiker. A real awakening of the importance of survival skills. Heartfelt, compassionate and respectful.
