Description

It's bad enough to have to deal with evil, right?
But when it's clever, unpredictable as hell, and has a not-so-helpful sense of humor, it can get downright annoying. Or deadly. Or end-of-the-world disastrous. Or other fun stuff like that.
I'll be honest. I thought I was prepared to defend the City of Boston against magical sociopaths with questionable morals. Once I got the job, however, it took only about thirty seconds and one dead mentor for me to discover I was wrong. As it turns out, I'm pretty much undertrained, underqualified, and surprisingly unwelcome.
But when my best friend and an immortal warrior get abducted by the GoD of Evil as part of his highly-flawed world-peace plan, guess who's the only one with a chance to save the day? Yeah. Me.
Which means, it's time for me to find my inner badass.
Or die.
I prefer badass.
About the Author: S.A. Bayne is a freaking gift to the universe, at least according to her dogs, and everyone knows dogs are world-class judges of people. She was taught to play by the rules, but after suffering numerous apoplectic breakdowns, she realized that she had to ditch the rules, figure out her own way to live, and then turn that into a high-octane, irreverent, unpredictable-as-hell, supernatural fiction that will make your day so much better just by reading it.  For more info on SAB, check out www.sabayne.com, which is chock full of good stuff.

This a great start to this series it’s funny at times and at others your other emotions take you through. The characters are engaging and well developed and the storyline has not only a great theme but it flows smoothly throughout the pages. I am looking forward to reading more. I received a copy and am voluntary leaving my honest review.

I had a lot of fun with this book. The characters were varied and entertaining - even the villain of the story provided some laughs. Seeing the length of the book, I thought it would take me a few days to read. It absolutely didn’t. I was so caught up in what was going on that I finished it one day (night?). Whichever it was, I know I finished it after 3am. Totally worth it!

What a fun way to continue the story of one of my favorite characters from the Order of the Blade series, and introduce a whole new set of characters to adore! I’ve been dying to know what happens to Thano, who for a hunky immortal warrior seams to only be at the beginning of his story. The book follows P.B. Noble, who learns that sometimes getting all you ever wanted isn’t all it’s cracked up to be, and her dream job is more challenging than she expected. Watching her learn to trust herself and those around her to work toward the greater good as she grows into herself is delightful! I also love the way Stephanie Rowe has of creating villains who are complex, hilarious, and terrifying. Each character is engaging in a way that makes you hunger for more of their story. I couldn’t put it down, like always, and I’m hooked for the next one!

S.A. Bayne knows how to weave humor and action into a fast paced magic filled paranormal story. Just when you tense at guessing what will happen next, you can't help but laugh and break the tension with the quick wit and funny banter. Love the best friendship between Solange and P.B. They take their job at protecting the world from evil and opening up their night club for magics seriously. You just can't help love the attitude they give! Looking forward to the next in this new series.

What a fun book. I laughed so much reading this book. PB is a great leading lady. She has spunk and is just a ball of fun. PB making friends and fighting evil while opening a bar is hard on any girl. If you are looking for a truly fun book you have found it. I received an ARC for my honest review.
