I went into this prequel knowing the main couple wouldn't end up together. I didn't want to read leaving them unhappy and only read it because I wanted to get to "the good stuff" in the next book. Oh my, poor kids. To fall so hard and still be pulled apart. What a great set up for the next book! As usual the characters are well done and the dialog, situations and reactions all seemed real and well paced.

"The Promise" (Veils and Vows #0) by Jean Oram is a great read. I enjoyed the beginning of Devon and Olivia's story. I can't wait to see what happens next. I think this is an excellent start to the Blueberry Springs spinoff series Veils and Vows. Highly recommend to all fans of romance and series.

This story broke my heart, I can not believe that Olivia would take the decision she did! Once I started reading this I could not stop, I can not wait to read what happen with Devon and Olivia!
