Description

Some men are born responsible, some men have responsibility thrust upon them. Henry John Edgar Thomas Pembrook, Prince of Wessco, just got the motherlode of all responsibility dumped in his regal lap. He’s not handling it well. Hoping to force her grandson to rise to the occasion, Queen Lenora goes on a much-needed safari holiday—and when the Queen’s away, the Prince will play. After a chance meeting with an American television producer, Henry finally makes a decision all on his own: Welcome to Matched: Royal Edition. A reality TV dating game show featuring twenty of the world's most beautiful blue bloods gathered in the same castle. Only one will win the diamond tiara, only one will capture the handsome prince’s heart. While Henry revels in the sexy, raunchy antics of the contestants as they fight, literally, for his affection, it’s the quiet, bespectacled girl in the corner—with the voice of an angel and a body that would tempt a saint—who catches his eye. The more Henry gets to know Sarah Mirabelle Zinnia Von Titebottum, the more enamored he becomes of her simple beauty, her strength, her kind spirit... and her naughty sense of humor. But Rome wasn’t built in a day—and irresponsible royals aren’t reformed overnight. As he endeavors to right his wrongs, old words take on whole new meanings for the dashing Prince. Words like, Duty, Honor and most of all—Love.

How should I say this...Henry and Sarah were perfectly for each other. Henry a crown prince formed to take the throne of king because his brother choose to marry someone not from royalty. But Henry was a bad boy, until.... he meets Sarah, the librarian and in love with her classic romance books. She wore darks clothes and hated being the center of attention in any way. So you know how this goes. Opposite attracts. I literally enjoyed this story. Tried so hard to read the entire book in one night... almost. Good read, if you haven’t read and to your list.

Prince Henry, the future king and wild member of the family, agrees to do a royal version of The Bachelor. Lady Sarah prefers not to cash in on her bloodline. She's the quiet librarian. Her sister loves the spotlight so she can't wait to sign up. Sarah tags along as an escort to keep her sister in line. Despite being surrounded by outgoing beautiful women on par with his partying ways, Henry finds sanctuary in Sarah's company. Royally Matched is about two people growing into their true selves. Henry learns to focus on what is important to him. Sarah finds she has a brave side. The storyline is full of sweet and funny, and plenty of sexy finds it way into the mix. Lovers of reality tv and RomComs should check this out.

For the most part, the book was lighthearted, with the exception of events from Sarah’s past that have led her to live her life a certain way. She doesn’t seem like she would be the perfect fit for someone so wild like Henry, but we soon learn there is more to him that what we’ve seen so far. Henry is unprepared to be the heir to the throne after his brother abdicates his title to marry an American, but his brother believes he has what it takes to be King, and pretty soon so does Sarah. I loved the interaction between the pair. They are sweet, fun and a little dirty! Perfect for New Adult fans looking for something light and fun! I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book. I was not compensated for this review, all conclusions are my own.

Something I have come to expect from Emma Chase…her books are hysterical. But, for some reason, this series tops all of her other books! Royally Matched is the story of Henry John Edgar Thomas Pembrook, a second son and irresponsible playboy. But, what else would he be growing up in the shadow of the would-be king? Then his brother abdicates the throne and Henry is suddenly the new Prince of Wessco. Having lived his life without rules or any purpose to his life, he is completely overwhelmed with the huge weight that comes from wearing a crown (pun intended). In an attempt to help Henry make the transition, and hopefully rise to the occasion, (in other words, get married) his grandmother (the queen), agrees to give him some space. I don’t think she expected him to run back to his carefree, playboy ways. Henry decides to enter an American “Bachelor” type show to find a bride. This could have taken the book in a very cliché direction. But, I love Emma Chase’s books, so I had to keep reading. It was another home run! Henry’s assumption that he’ll be frolicking in naked women, blow jobs, etc is shot to hell when on his first day, he meets Sarah. Uh oh…his plans go out the window when he quickly becomes enamored with her. Sarah is an adorable character. She’s sweet, innocent, and bluntly honest. quiet, bookish, nerdy, and beautiful in an understated way. Well, physically, her inner beauty is big and bright. But, under the pensive and thoughtful personality lies spunk and Henry seems to be the key to exposing it. I think these two are so good for each other. In a roundabout way, they are preparing each other for their future rolls as king and queen. Even if they don’t realize it. Henry wants to be the kind of man Sarah deserves, and Sarah needs to gain confidence and the ability to demand respect. They chemistry between these two is H.O.T. and, wow, does is burn! You’ll definitely be fanning yourself when you aren’t doubled over with laughter! Emma Chase is a master at combining sweet romance, witty and hysterical moments, and melt your panties right off heat. I couldn’t have asked for a better ending, though it was hard to say goodbye to these two. This one will be a frequent re-read for me! 5 hilarious and deliciously sexy stars!
  • The future King has met his match!

In book one, Royally Screwed, I met a completely different Prince Henry Pembrook of Wessco. The spare-heir appeared to be the stereotypical overindulged, out of control, rich blue blood. His days were filled with reckless adventures and his nights with parties, booze, and an endless parade of beautiful women. I liked that he didn’t take his nobility too seriously, and his irreverent humor slayed me, but I had my reservations about him. Keeping in mind Emma Chase has never given me a hero I didn’t love, I wasn’t overly concerned about Royally Matched. Nothing will straighten you out and sober you up quicker than suddenly becoming the future king of your monarchy. Is it any wonder that Henry’s whole demeanor changes as he struggles to adjust to duty and responsibility? Well, maybe he hasn’t changed completely. His first royal undertaking is to participate in a reality dating show where he chooses his future queen from twenty handpicked Wesscovian royals. Really, what could go wrong? Often those who are the loudest, most exuberant, and devil-may-care are holding back large parts of themselves. That is Henry. The sarcastic wit remains, but the brash partier is nowhere to be found. In his place is a caring man with a huge heart and strong convictions. When he first revealed himself, he reduced me to tears. When he demonstrated the lengths he would go to for those he loves, he captured a piece of my heart. Lady Sarah Von Titebottum’s impetuous sister is chosen as one of the Matched contestants, so she tags along as chaperon. It isn’t long before Henry stumbles upon Sarah reading one of her beloved books. He’s instantly intrigued by her guilelessness, sharp wit, and quiet beauty. She becomes his safe haven from the chaos of the show and the ever present cameras. The two quickly become allies, then more. My favorite type of heroine is strong, embraces her sexuality, exudes confidence, and doesn't suffer fools or alphas. Outwardly, Sarah isn't any of those things. But she showed me it's possible to be those things yet extremely shy and perfectly flawed. Because when provoked, she is fierce. When nurtured, she blossoms. Henry excels at making her blossom. And blush. I adored her. I thought Nicholas & Olivia’s story was the author’s most romantic, yet she’s surpassed herself with Henry & Sarah’s. Theirs is utterly charming and emotional. I lost count of how many times I was reduced to a blubbering mess. That’s not to say it’s not fun and sexxy too. It’s equally as humorous. With the quirky cast Emma Chase has created, there’s no way it couldn’t be. It will definitely keep you laughing, sighing, crying, and wanting more of this awesome new series. Royally Matched is a perfect follow up to Royally Screwed, although it can be read as a standalone. Now that I’ve gotten more of this royal family and their entertaining entourage, bring on Royally Endowed!
  • Prince Henry will steal your heart!

Royally Matched blends Chase's signature witty, dry humor with reality TV. Henry, now the crown Prince, is a bit of a mess. He spent his life thinking he would never be King. That was his older brothers role. But, his brother abdicated the throne and Henry is trying to figure out how to be everything he has never been. But, before that, he decides to embrace the Henry he has always been and host a reality show in the palace. Because, what could go wrong?! Sarah is one of those heroines that I feel a deep kinship with. Her crushing shyness, her bubbly sibling, her love of solitude...she is my soul sister. She is also the daughter of a countess so her and her sister get an invite to royally matched. Sarah has no desire to be on the show; she simply wanted an excuse to get away from work for 6 weeks to avoid giving a presentation in front of hundreds of people. She agrees to be her sister, Penelope's, assistant. Its win-win for her; she gets out of the work presentation without losing her job, and she doesn't have to be on television. I had a moment or 2 when I was irritated with Sarah because of the whole Willoughby vs Colonel Brandon thing. However, thankfully, that passes quickly in the story and Sarah is willing to amend her perceptions. Henry is quite perfect though. He has a reputation as the lothario and in some respects, that is true, but he is more than that. His poor behavior, womanizing and drinking, is to deal with his PTSD from his time in the service. You get to see some heartbreaking moments for Henry and it brought a few tears to my eyes. I wanted to cuddle him so hard!

Henry is the wild prince every woman wants to tame, but he's the one who makes our hearts wild! I didn't think Emma would be able to top Royally Screwed. But she exceeded all expectations as Royally Matched is even BETTER! Passion, fire, humor, and intrigue, this book is what makes royal romances so alluring. From the very beginning of the story, Henry instantly captures the reader's hearts. Having been thrust into the duties and responsibilities of a crown prince, Henry struggles to change into the man deserving of his title, and expectations of the queen, and the need to be the person he already is. And when he gets the chance to set those duties aside and partake in a little fun, to be the man he has always been, we get to experience this fun journey of finding his queen. But what he didn't expect was to meet a woman completely different than what he was looking for, a woman who brings out the compassionate and sensitive side of Henry, and the ambition to be the man his country deserves to call a leader. The relationship between Henry and Sarah was built on a foundation of friendship and desire, that progressively turned to a passionate and emotional love. With each encounter they shared, you could feel the sparks come off the pages, whether it was their shared lust or the comedic dialogue and banter. They fit together so well, and were what each other needed. But can Sarah overlook Henry's past to man he's become, and open her heart completely?....and can Henry be honest and do the right thing when needed? I can without a doubt say I loved this story. It has hints of a forbidden and secret romance, with splashes of drama throughout. My heart melted over and over at the romantic characteristics Henry displayed, and the desire and passion they shared was addictive! Remarkably written, Royally Matched will warm your heart and leave a permanent smile on your face! 5 stars!
