I first purchased this book in 2015, from a retailer no longer extant. I loved it then. I was recently offered an ARC via Candid Book Reviews (thank you!), and this is my latest voluntary and independent review: this book rocks!! Impulsive is the aptly titled fourth book in the Felony Bar romance series. It details the personal lives of bartender/graphic designer Luke, waitress/tattoo artist Tasha, and mega-rockstar Elijah, who is Luke's old friend. Luke is into Tasha, but she doesn't fit his corporate lifestyle. He has 'history' with Elijah. Tasha fears commitment like the plague, but she's into Luke and Elijah - for different but valid reasons. Charismatic Elijah is ready to self destruct, but he's holding it together for Tasha and his old friend Luke. The only question is - are they a love triangle, or a triad? This is a very steamy and totally character-driven contemporary romance, set in the gritty underground world of the Felony Bar and its 'family' of mis-fits and lovers. Jeana Mann's flawless depiction of the lives and challenges of urban 20-somethings finding their way through lonely and alienated single life to HEA is so realistic you feel like you're part of the story. She sets exactly the perfect mood - at times painful or amusing, and ultimately uplifting. Her characters - especially the beautiful and damaged Elijah - are memorable in their unique complexity and innate desire for connection, and in the flaws that bedevil their efforts to find 'home.' This novel totally works as a standalone, but after spending time in the world of the Felony Bar, you'll will want to stay for more. I promise you won't be disappointed.
